"Enjoy the Decline" Now Available!

Happy day economists and lieutenants!

"Enjoy the Decline" is now available in paper back and Kindle!

(and no, I'm not sick in this picture  I'm ghost white in this picture because it's winter in Minnesota)

In terms of what to expect, I shall be blunt and direct.  It is a harsh book, but a necessary book.  I wrote it to help all the "Real Americans" (a term I concocted in the book to reference libertarians, conservatives, freedom lovers and all genuine Americans) deal with what is happening to the United States.  If you are depressed, saddened, or just plain don't like the way the country is going, then this is MANDATORY reading for you.  It will help you take everything in that is going around and happening to the country as well as how to find joy and happiness in spite of it all.

I also must admit I wrote this in fear of what I see in a lot of American males, especially my friends - a deep depression that is not only ruining their lives, but driving some to contemplate suicide.  If you know of a friend or a loved one who is particularly affected by the outlook of the country and their future, I STRONGLY recommend buying or recommending them this book.

Again, thanks for all your continued support.  I hope this book proves useful and beneficial to you all.

Since I found your blog a couple months ago, I've spent the time catching up on old posts and watching your youtube videos as time permits.

Based on that, I can honestly say you scare the tee total crap out of me because as far as I can tell, you're right. 100% completely and utterly right.

Normally, guys predicting the downfall of this and that are kooks and whackos with logical holes in their theories big enough to drive a truck through. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find any such thing in your reasoning. It honestly scares the living crap out of me that we have sown the seeds of our own destruction and nobody seems to have noticed.....

Agh, off to Amazon I guess....

  12. You've given us an amazing gift, Aaron. Only 8 dollars for the Kindle version. I'm buying this ASAP. Hopefully this book will become a must read for every freedom loving conservative, libertarian, or reactionary out there like Barry Goldwater's classic "Conscience of a Conservative."

Purchased and read on kindle. I caught three typos, despite not having a vagina. The book is very good, but nothing earth-shattering for regular readers of the blog. As with "worthless", I think the true value of this book lies in red-pilling salvageable friends. Worth buying for the "youthful idiots" pun alone.

  16. Bought via kindle.

I'm not an American, but I hope you won't begrudge a Kiwi who happens to believe your musings are quite relevant to him and to most other Western countries.

We share most of the same societal ills, if not even further down the garden path.

For those of you outside the US who feel an American decline will not effect you, I believe you are in error.

For my whole life the US has been the only adult in the room, if you will. The Pax Americana so many of us take for granted will be missed.

So to you Captain, those of like mind and the idea that was America...I raise a toast.

Now, single malt in hand, cigarettes at the ready...time to enjoy the decline. :-)

Kindle books can be be read on a Kobo. You first need to install the Kindle application on your desktop computer, that'll give you a place to download/access the Kindle edition after buying it.

To get it on to the Kobo, you need to convert it out of Kindle's proprietary format to a more common .epub or something. This involves breaking the DRM, and it shouldn't be hard to find guides on that.

I've done it for my own Kobo before. Considering I've paid for those Kindle books and only copied them to my own devices and backups, I believe I'm well within the intended bounds of fair-use laws.

I have just purchased and read "Enjoy the Decline". It is is bleak and brilliant. I particularly value the analogy with Berlin in 1945 as the Red Army closed in. Escape was impossible, and nothing good was going to happen when the Soviets actually took the city.

For those who are relatively recent readers of Aaron Clarey, it should be pointed out that "Behind the Housing Crash" appeared a little before the crash actually occurred.

OK Cappy. I have my copy, and am enjoying it so far. I do have a question though.

About 1/4 of the way through (am still earning to properly use Kindle Reader), there is a graph Government Expenditures as a percent of GDP super-imposed over Rolling 20 year RGDF growth. The x-axis is years. My question, is: Have you ever done a scatter plot of Gov Exp vs RGDP growth? I understand that correlation inst causality, but I'm curious. I'm wondering if we can't extrapolate a trend, and see where it levels out.

    regards

  27. Hi Phil,

Yes, I have done a chart like that. You would have to look it up as it would be the same thing I'd do. But I recall the correlation coefficient was -.3 So as spending goes up, economic growth goes down.

First Brazilian to buy the book, I guess.
Here in Brazil we are five years ahead of you guys in the descent to socialism hell.
Everything happening in America can be predicted by what happened here.
Expect the Cloward-Piven strategy to go into full force and Gramsci to be taught in high schools next.

A brilliant book. But too optimistic, in one regard. In the coming police state movement of citizens (subjects, really), will be severely curtailed and monitored. Leaving will not be an option, any more than it was an option for the citizens of Berlin in 1945 as they awaited the arrival of the Red Army. The technical means are now largely in place - chips, drones, email monitoring, massive computer databases. The jaws have not yet clamped shut, but all of this monstrous apparatus of control and oppression has not bee assembled not to be used. Yes, Aaron, in a few years - a very few years - you will likely need permission and an internal visa to go on one of your long motorcycle trips. The permission will not easily be obtained, and you will be monitored on your trip. This is what the Russians had to put up with under Communism. For most, the only refuge was in alcohol.

The second matter is that the State will determine your education and your allowed occupations. I doubt that you will be allowed to be a writer, for instance, let alone a motorcycle repairman.
