I think something you may be overlooking in your analysis of this "business" proposal is that they intend to hire fewer employees in order to be able to make their $15 target. If all businesses follow suit by increasing efficiency and changing their business model, some employees will have to be fired in order to raise the wages of those staying on. Once again, feel good proposals doing exactly what economists say they will do. Reduce employment opportunities for entry level workers, thereby keeping them from gaining the kind of job experience that allows them to move up the chain and make higher wages.
