I was listening to this with the limited French I know, and trying to figure out why the subtitles didn't match. I kinda figured they must be way out of time with the audio, and then "cunt", Ha, satire.
The captions were hard to read - in your video editor, when you're working with text, look for something called "drop shadow", which will make white text pop more. Alternately, try a bright yellow/gold color, which usually is legible against any background.

ReplyDeleteThe campus fascists are no better than ISIL. They differ only in degree.
ReplyDeleteI speak A**hole French quite fluently and certify that the subtitles are 100% accurate.

ReplyDeleteThe subtitles, in white, blend into the white sign for President of France. No can read.

ReplyDeleteMy French is really rusty; however I suspect that the subtitles may be a sarcastic dub rather than an actual translation.
ReplyDeleteI hope I'm wrong and Mssr. Hollande is using lots and lots of idiomatic expressions with which I am not familiar.
Either way, it's bloody funny (or would be, if it weren't a painfully accurate commentary on events).
