The woman doing my onboarding advised me to contribute as much as I could to the 401k plan above the company 6% match - best advice I ever got (I went 15-20%). Every new hire I trained I told to "make it hurt, you'll get used to it".

It absolutely blew my mind that there folks who wouldn't even do the match "because they couldn't afford it". Shit, there were a couple "all flash - no cash" guys who didn't put ANYTHING into the plan. Having that Corvette/BMW/whatever had priority. I'm just a poor, dumb ex-truck driver, but I bought rental properties in the right areas, paid for my home quickly and have no debt. I have a Teamster Pension, but I don't need it to live well. The boomers who worked in the private sector and depended on a compmany pension, their IRA/401ks and their house appreciating lost big as the companies shut, the bubble bursting in 2008 and no interest being paid on savings ever since. The next housing bubble is on the horizon, so eventually the cheap money spicket will have to be turned off. Boomers who did NOT qualify for social security, disability or welfare at the time ended up consuming the little they saved and have no choice but to continue working (if they can find it).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358039.post-63872821714814350292017-07-03T01:30:46.545-07:002017-07-03T01:30:46.545-07:00somebody has to pay some tax so girls have labiapl...somebody has to pay some tax so girls have labiaplasty:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/03/vagina-surgery-sought-girls-young-nine-pornography-doctors-reveal/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358039.post-92194921298198075202017-07-02T07:55:03.955-07:002017-07-02T07:55:03.955-07:00Depending on ones work, you may be "forced ou...Depending on ones work, you may be "forced out" of your job before age 70 or however long one plans to work.Kurthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09614729892993847121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358039.post-72196266029978059172017-07-01T07:59:38.589-07:002017-07-01T07:59:38.589-07:00Over all of human existence working until you die ...Over all of human existence working until you die was pretty much the norm. It only really changed in the past 50 years. A hundred years ago various places had public pensions to allow people to retire, but most people didn't live long enough to see them. People started to live longer, at the same time as retirement ages went down. Now, people are living so long and retire so young that there will be people who can (in theory) collecting a pension for longer that they worked. Since they obviously don't put 50 percent of their pay into their pension plan, the numbers just don't add up.minutemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13761939172653400728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358039.post-82138497759924822982017-07-01T05:31:41.741-07:002017-07-01T05:31:41.741-07:00I fully intend to work until I am 70.
