So to ban Sanjay I had to turn on this "comments moderation" option on the blog.
It said it would e-mail me anytime somebody made a comment.
Got an occasional e-mail saying I had a comment.
Then I go to the "comments moderation page" and BAAMM!!!
Like 40 posts that I got no e-mail notification for.
Regardless, my apologies for this delay in posting your posts.
I didn’t find anything distasteful about Sanjay’s comments.
ReplyDeleteSanjay was the only one that made any sense on this page. Maybe he wasn't polite, but this fascist just goes and bans him once he doesn't like what he hears. So much for the freedom of speech.
ReplyDeleteI published your tripe. Besides which Sanjay was an idiot. He was more concerned about masterbating his own ego than engaging in any sort of intellectual debate. Just look at the lengths of his posts and how incoherent and tangential they were.
ReplyDeleteOh, no, you missed it Brad. He was insulting people, I deleted the posts where he was flinging insults. Besides which, I'll say it again. This is a mechanism by which I make money, not an open forum where we all hang out a candle light vigil singing kumbaya.
ReplyDeleteWasn't referring to you as the idiot Brad, just Kilroy.
ReplyDeleteSanjay has been taking out his aggression on my blog lately! I do have a terribly difficult time determining what he's trying to say, as he likes to bog down in, as you said, tangents, and I've noticed he's also prone to arguing semantics. Check my two posts on the speed limit in TX, for a good point of reference. It is exceedingly taxing trying to respond to him, and I continue to do so only because I don't like the last comment on one of my posts to appear as though I've ceded to his argument.
ReplyDeleteThat being said - to anyone referring to the captain as "fascist" or his actions as "censorship," please doublecheck your definitions on both terms, and find something else - because those terms don't work.
This IS HIS blog, and he certainly has the right to refuse comments from anyone, regardless of whether one finds it justifiable or not. This is the beauty of freedom. He's free to ban people, and you're free to read other blogs if you don't like it.
Hey Doink,
ReplyDeleteWell cripes, tell me about it. I didn't have time to read his 40 pages of tirades and mindless philosophical drivel. He claims he's some doctoral student and business owner yet has time to blog like that? At least I make some money when I blog.
Regardless, shoot me an e-mail;
captcapitalism@yahoo.com
My problem, FWIW, with Sanjay is not the fact that he responds to my posts - I appreciate the feedback, and he certainly challenges me. But often his responses are longer than my initial post, and it's just painfully time-consuming to respond to him. I try to respond for two reasons: A) I'm a stubborn ass and I don't like to let others have the last word, and B) to try and defend/clarify my position.
ReplyDeleteI know the captain and sanjay have had their differences, but I wanted to make myself clear here.
Doink,
ReplyDeleteAnd that's what I'm talking about, if he was some PhD, business owner guy who had to make payroll he wouldn't be putzing around on the internet making the diatribe posts that he does.
Ricardo,
And no, it has nothing to do with him going beyond what I said and proving me wrong. I'll gladly admit when I'm wrong. It has to do with him insulting everybody on this blog and acting like a little child.
I'm amazed what constitutes as racism in yours and Sanjay's world. Regardless that is neither here nor there.
ReplyDeleteAs for "losers with time on their hands to blog. The "losers" are only those not making any money on it, seems you're spending a lot of time here. Besides which busy season is starting to end so I have a little more time on my hands.
Thirdly, I had gotten more e-mails to get rid of Sanjay than to keep him. Although one person did post to keep him. All I can say is you're just going to have to trust me on this one, but I will leave you to do what you want.
Regardless, as I have said before, this is not the people's forum, it's mine, and my primary goal is to make money. Not provide an outlet for some introverted doctoral candidate who will never land a job outside academia or people to blame others for racism and go on their little crusades. When Sanjay started posting and insulting people, hits went down. Sorry, consider him a casualty of the market, nobody (I'm sorry) very few people liked hearing his drivel.
I am now done addressing this Sanjay stuff, you guys can keep posting and postulating all you want about it.
I hadn't seen this until today, but I have to say I am surprised on several counts.
ReplyDelete1) I am surprised CC had the patience to entertain SanJay this long. The guy needs his own blog for the rants he puts out. Regardless of whether he has a good point or not, the fact that he wouldn't put his thoughts on his own blog smacks of trolling. Usually when a person sits back and plays sniper on another person's blog, they are failing to be constructive, and are just trolling for the sake of antagonism.
2) Kilroy, Bradman, and anyone else who felt this was fascist or censorship, let me again say that SanJay should get his own place. (In fact, I'd link it.) Take Doink's advice, guys. You may feel it was unwarranted, but that does not qualify as fascism.
3) Juan, he's done more insulting than you are aware. Most of it was unwarranted and ad hominem. That gets old quick - I feel it detracted from some of his legit points. It is, as CC said, childish. Why do you feel CC should be in some way compelled to play host to it?
All, please let me know if you become aware of SanJay putting up a blog. I would love to check it out, and I am serious about linking him.
