Once a Commie, Always a Commie

OK, so reunification of Germany started in 1990. How long does it take the East to get its act together?

16%???? And this is after the Hartz V reforms. I wish there was a chart showing long term unemployment rates between the West and the East.

    Long-term unemployment (defined as being unemployed one year or longer) is at 38.8% of all unemployed persons in West Germany, according to the Statistisches Bundesamt. Eastern Germany has 41%, so it's not a big difference after all.
