So here's my question to all the big time head honchos at all the banks;
Are you going to hire this guy (and guys like him) or are your egos so shattered and completely devastated you don't have the temerity or cajones to do so?
Phew, I am SO glad my parents taught me to avoid debt at all costs. Eesh. Of course, that always seemed like common sense to me anyway. Why keep a financial guillotine hanging over your head if you don't absolutely have to?
Anyway, I think it's interesting that in each instance he was absolutely correct, yet it turned into a rather volatile confrontation (at least as far as network news is concerned.) I think he would definitely benefit from a bit of modification to his body language while making his case. For instance, in just about all of those clips, right before everyone else started blowing up at him, Peter's eyes would start darting back and forth. That's such a classic tell! That practically screams, "I'm full of it, and I'm just waiting for somebody to call me on it." I'm positive he didn't mean it that way, cause hey, he was right, but still. It looks like in each video, right when his eyes started going wonky, everybody else got on his case with just a little bit more voracity. If he could adjust his body language I think he might get a better response out of people. Or at the very least, not be met with such snippy comments, like that anchor talking about his case against Santa Claus.
Peter Schiff supported Ron Paul for President. I'm just saying.
ReplyDeleteI want to send this guy a T-Shirt that says I TOLD YOU SO!
ReplyDeleteStunning. What else can one say. I sure hope Peter put his money where his mouth was. Made a flipping fortune if he did!
ReplyDeleteShocking. Simply shocking. That video is incredible.
ReplyDeleteI want to see an extended version of Congressman saying that Fannie and Freddie were not insolvent.
Wow! Wish I knew where I can get access to his commentary, although he must be somewhat of a regular on Fox.

I wonder if Peter ever got his penny for the bet from that first guy.
ReplyDeleteKnew you'd enjoy this video :P
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest in that I saw this coming but didn't pay much attention to the talking heads back then.
ReplyDeleteTo go back and see it is both sad and hilarious.. it's like he's the only guy in the room not drinking the kool-aid (pre-Obama).
Definitely erodes my confidence in anything I hear on TV, not that there was much to begin with.
Check out this podcast of Peter Schiff explaining his views on a whole variety of issues. He's right on the money on every point.
