I'm sure there are already several correct answers submitted (I hope anyway - the answer should be obvious to anyone who is paying attention). I just wanted to comment on how happy I am to see Florida on the list.
I want somewhere warm to move to that doesn't have an income tax, and if there's cheap real estate, too, then bonus! Bad local economy? No problem - I'm building an income for myself that doesn't require me to be any place in particular, just somewhere with internet access, and where I happen to be doesn't affect its performance either (except for that internet access thing).
Now if this health care BS doesn't get thrown out like the unconstitutional piece of trash that it is and force me to go ex-pat, I may be moving to the Sunshine state.

Several things, not sure which are cause and which are effect - but here goes:
ReplyDeleteCause #1 - All are very highly taxed states.
Cause #2 - All are heavily pro-union.
Cause #3 - All have significant corruption issues in their state governments.
Effect #1 - Capital is fleeing these states for more investment-friendly states, and when capital leaves, so do jobs.
Effect #2 - High taxes, high cost of living and sick economies mean people leave for lower cost of living, capital conservation and more opportunity.
Oh, I know.
ReplyDeleteThey are all places where you are punished for being successful.
Also, keep these stats handy when you're scratching your head after the 2010 census reapportions more seats to blue states.
ReplyDeleteOh never mind my first post as anonymous at 6:06...
ReplyDeleteI didn't see Floriduh and New Joisey in the list - they weren't on the first page.
So Cap'n, what is the common trait?
