More Fairburns

Found a good piece today. Pictures again are poor. You will only have to suffer 2 more weeks of this before I return to minneapolis wherein I'll have no agates to hunt, no mountains to climb and will resort to writing about the dire economic state of this country once again.

    Congratulations.

Ok, I'm not a geologist nor into earth science, but what's the difference between a normal agate and a Fairburn agate?

Are Fairburn agates worth more then ordinary agates?

  2. Yes, agates are incredibly common. Like a clueless female teenager or for that matter a 40 something female told to vote for Barack OBama. But Fairburn agates are a very rare formation in the agate. If you look up an image search on google you will see plenty of examples, but keep in mind for every fairburn agate you see there are literally (LITERALLY) 10,000 regular agates.
