That is very very sad. Speaking of Capitalism, De Beers Diamond invented the entire marketing idea of diamond engagement rings. That women is so proud of her ring. She has no idea De Beers simply came up the with idea, so they could sell more diamonds. A mineral with a starting value of around fifty dollars, ends up selling for over $2000 in the jewelry store. The entire diamond business is a big scam. Try re-selling a diamond, and you will see for yourself.

    1) Narcissism.
    2) Materialism.
    3) Pathetic beta male.
    4) Public humiliation of said pathetic beta male.

I’d say a possible fifth is the likely pedestalization of this woman, but you can’t tell from the photo.

I don’t care what anyone says, that girl is not fat or ugly. That roll at her midsection is just the coat. She’s a 6.5—and probably 7.5 or so dolled up.

It seems there is some debate about her weight, but IMHO, she's a bit chunky and probably in her mid-thirties - note the wrinkles on her forehead. He looks younger. The cougar caught her prey.

  3. Combat is safer and less stressful than marriage. Combat also pays more and gives a better tax break.

After combat, you get the GI Bill. After marriage, you get the alimony bill.

If you're unfortunate in combat, you die. If you're unfortunate in marriage, you live.

In combat, you know who your enemy is. In marriage, it depends on what day of the month it is.

In combat you have some protection from the Geneva Convention.

In combat you can fight back and even kill without going to jail.

Many men survive combat. Few men survive marriage.

There's less screaming and crying in combat.

In combat, staying in your bunker protects you.

In combat you get USO shows. In marriage, you get QVC, the Food Network, Oxygen, Lifetime, and the Hallmark Channel.

Combat has fewer unmarked land mines.

Mistakes in combat get you a Purple Heart. Mistakes in marriage get you Blue Balls.

As a single (never married) man my opinion may not be seen as being all that valid on this, but I don't see a problem with marriage as long as you're doing it for the correct reasons. In spite of what people have been led to believe in recent history, getting married has very little to do with being "in love" or having a wedding; certainly, a wedding is the celebration of two individuals getting married and it is nice when romantic love leads to marriage, but that is not the point of marriage.

Until (very) recent history, marriage was primarily the creating of a stable family unit in order to have children with identified and respected paternity. One of the primary reasons why there is a double standard when it comes to adultery, and it is seen as being much worse when it is a married woman having an affair, was because it brings into question the paternity of any offspring. One of the core reasons paternity matters so much is that (until recently) is that bastards did not have any legitimate inheritance rights; and they received no benefit from the status of their father ... I could actually write about this for hours, but I think people get the point that "Marriage" means something different from what Hollywood pushes.

Now, if you want to have children with a women and this woman understands that marriage means more than wedding cake and a diamond ring I see it as being a wonderful thing. On the other hand, if you're getting married to keep a materialistic woman happy so you can continue to have sex with her then getting married is a very (VERY) bad idea.

    I still love being married!

I always wanted to live in the country, and there is no way the bank would have lent me the money to buy the 160 acres we bought on my own, even though I'm pretty confident I could have made the payment myself. And he couldn't have bought it himself, because it was my family we bought it from.

And the sex got better, at least for me. I don't know about him, I guess. He says he enjoys it, and we do it more often, so hopefully it is better for him too....

But I'm a girl, so maybe having someone to share the house payment and me enjoying the sex more isn't really important to dudes (because I've heard differing opinions on if quantity or variety of sex trumps in guy land). Who knows, maybe I'll be a divorced single mom in 2 years. Dating again. God, that would suck...
