Who Pays Money for "Raising Awareness?"

My first shot at one of these Xtranormal films. Failed to change the camera shots.

I like mine, it's offensive and wrong: A Dayton Voter

  3. Raising awareness.

I love that one. As if somehow, doing nothing but repeating information that everyone already knows is accomplishing a single thing.

The NFL paints it self pink in October to raise awareness of breast cancer. And, exactly how many people watching the NFL are not aware that breast cancer is a potentially deadly disease?

Al Gore flies all over the world to "raise awareness" of climate change. I would like to shake the hand of the person in the modern world that is unaware the climate is changing.

Raising awareness is nothing more then doing nothing and expecting to get paid and/or praised for it.

Now, do not get me wrong, there are some legitimate issues where awareness need to be raised. Unfortunately, they are the ones that never get activists involved.

What would happen if people started a campaign to raise awareness of exactly how the US Congress operates? Or how the Federal Reserve worked? How about raising awareness that guns are just a tool, not some kind of superintelligent hunk of metal that causes crime by itself.
