Not only is there a degree scam, but the other scam is how universities and colleges, including public ones have an unholy alliance with the federal government student loan programs, which enables them to charge as much as they want, while screwing the student and the taxpayer into the ground.
So we have these ivory tower palaces primarily devoted to academic elitism and excess, that rape the students and the taxpayers, and are totally unaccountable to anyone.
Makes sense. The last job I worked at as a temp actually rewrote the job "requirements" down from a bachelor's degree to a GED so they could justify giving full-time jobs to everyone there except me.
