One Hell of a Photo

Take some solace in this photo.

When I saw it, there was a flood of thoughts that came to me, and even now I'm still trying to sort them out.

But some of the more prominent ones are;

1. Aging woman whose life is so vain and void of meaning she still is protesting in her 50's?

2. Shouldn't you be a nice kind grandmother by now? No, your life has been so meaningless, so pointless, you must hang on, cling on, to that ONE TIME you felt alive back in 1968. Sadly, nobody knows who you are, nobody cares who you are, and me (a nobody blogger) is about all the celebrityship you're going to receive in terms of notoriety.

3. The shock on her face. "Wow! Are people really taking me down for trespassing on private property? I thought I was going to be able to just slander, abuse, and trespass where ever I wanted! You mean people who actually work for a living, build up the wealth, and start private companies get pissed when parasites like me just have the audacity to traipse on your property? Why am I being hauled away! I have a MASTERS DEGREE DAMNIT!

4. Do you think this woman ever lived a happy life?

5. How many suitable, upstanding men approached her in the 1970's?

6. How many suitable, upstanding men did she shoot down in the 1970's?

7. How much you want to bet she wishes she hadn't shot down all those suitable men in the 1970's who are now making bookoo coin in computer engineering or actuarial science.

8. Why am I seeing so many older people in these childish protests? Shouldn't they have figured this crap out by now and moved on to building families and lives they can enjoy?

9. When I'm this woman's age, I will have more important things to attend to. Not to mention, it's nearly impossible to be more miserable than her by that age.

There are other thoughts, but, this photo just really spoke to me. I love. I cherish it. And when I look at it, I see reality come crashing down on what is nothing more than the most arrogant and spoiled rotten elements of western civilization.

You kiddies keep protesting reality. Let me know how the battle against the truth goes. In the meantime I'll light up a cigar and watch a bunch of former 60s rebels and their modern day OWS counterparts piss away their lives protesting against the fact they have to grow up, get jobs, be adults and support themselves. Only to find out in their 70s they wasted their lives, had one shot and blew it, and can sit and stew in the crappy government nursing homes they voted in for themselves..

To quote Cartman;

"Damn hippies."

Big Daddy Gov - the most abusive husband ever.

There's a whole lot of jackboot coming the way of her face.

Enjoy the nuptuals, grammy - you voted for it.

This is the face of someone who believes that what they do, what they say, what they think, makes a difference. Makes peoples lives better. Saves the planet. Saves the horses. This is the face that destroys.
These people demand government programs to "help the poor" the most ineffecient use of funds possible and perpetuates a culture of poverty. They demand that the government "save the planet" bringing us the fraud of "Golbal Warming" and the all powerful EPA. The ban on the slaughter of horses for export moves that slaughter from controlled, regulated, and humane establshments in the US to inhumane, uncontrolled slaughter houses in Mexico.
Whatever they scream about over their cheap-a$$ megaphones, is a pile of worthless bull, and has been for the last 30+ years I have faced them. In every language, in every country.

  3. Damn, Cappy, that is one great photo.

Tried to find anything in your comments that was not applicable to the spirit of that photo. (You do make some assumptions about that particular individual that may not be accurate, but...) Your comments apply 100% to the aging protestors.

I am always amazed when I see people over the age of 30 or maybe 35 at these things. Not talking about a one day rally type of thing, where all ages gather on the national mall to show support for/against an issue facing the nation.

Talking about things like three days of protest against the IMF, or the latest trend, OWS. I find it mind boggling that fully grown adults (note I did not say fully realized adults, or fully mature adults) can be so childish as to believe whining and crying about how unfair the world is will actually have any tangible results.

Did this particular woman have any kids? Maybe, but probably not. A parent would have more important things to do. Does she have a husband? A house? A job? Again, probably not. Responsibility to those things teaches one that life is not fair, and the rules do, in fact, apply to you as well.

Here's an idea captain. Why don't you find out who this woman is and spend some time with her and find out what she's really like and what she believes about things, instead of throwing stereotypes at her. You might be surprised. Maybe she's fine with capitalism and wealth, just doesn't like greed and corruption.

And since when did public protest become the sign of a failed, miserable life? And who says older people can't be involved?

  5. Sed,

Read the article about where this protestor was arrested and I can make a whole lot of assumptions and be right.

Intellectual conversation will not be halted to pause and pray at the exception of every rule.

  9. Just to throw in my two cents worth.
It is a myth that people become wiser as they get older. Yes thank goodness, some people do gain wisdom with age. But in most cases, the people that were idiots in their 20s are still idiots in their 50s. Do you think that protesting moron, will be any smarter in her sixties? I highly doubt that possibility. Do you think she will learn anything from being arrested? Fat chance of that happening.

Oh yeah! Izanpo would tap that.

You know why? Because a woman of her ilk (uppity-feminist-hippie) is so utterly conflicted; she craves a man's attention and hates herself for that. Hot!

I am old enough to remember the protests of the late 60's, early 70's. Revolution, man! I even went to a protest. Waste of time in that I did not meet a hot willing woman.

One big shock for these aging boomer protesters, is that now that boomers wre running things, my generation is far less tolerant of dissent, than the greatest generation oldsters we protested against.

That woman has helped create the world that has a boot on her neck.

    RICanuck
