It makes you look like a Cuban pimp at a gay wedding. Shoe salesmen from Nordstrom's will be hitting on you and hot women will give thought to becoming nuns ... it does NOT deliver a killer alpha male look AT ALL.
The suit is sharp, the accessories...not so much. The hat has too much cream color in it. Get it bright white or solid black. Same with the shirt, tie and shoes. All white or dark, dark black. Navy blue is not black.
Captain White belt would be good - Cuban pimp! well at lease a good looking Cuban pimp. Must be quite a sight to see given your location in the country. Key West would be better.
I cannot see how this can be construed as looking gay. Key West/Cuban, yes. Admitted the hat is the only light colored hat I have. The black undershirt can be done. But there is no "flamboyance" or gayness about this. I was going for the "southern gentleman" type look. The tie is admitted 1940's though, but that is more ganster 40's than gay.
I make no judgments, my wife asks if you are breast feeding. I felt that was a bit harsh, my son felt you look like a bleached pimp. Hmmmm. Again, I make no judgements.
The suit is nice. Doesn't work with the facial hair. Makes you look like someone who Robert Mitchum sweats some information out of sometime during the second reel.
Now, now folks. The Captain is obviously looking for a promotion to Colonel. Saunders, that is.
Absent that, what young lady doesn't crave an ice cream vendor?
Seriously, though. Really? Even down South, white suits are generally worn by past-their-prime gentlemen seeking to relive the joys of the Kentucky Derby. You can do better.
Gay is usually the adjective applied by those who don't know how to dress to those that do, but enough name calling, the proof is in the pudding. Get properly matched accessories and hit the clubs and dance floor. The ladies will be the judges (as they always are). Also note that the ability to set fashion trends as opposed to following them IS Alpa (see Johnny Depp).
On a related note, do you have a shoulder rig for your 1911 to go with it yet? Cuban pimps need to be packing heat. You also need a body guard in all black for contrast.
You are, however, violating the Christopher Lee, Ricardo Montalban, and Harland Sanders rules of white suitage: 1. White suit, white shirt, black tie. 2. White suit, dark shirt (preferably black), no tie. It's all about the black/white contrast. That's what makes white suits awesome.
I had enough of wearing white 'suits' (the 'summer white' uniform) during my 20-year tenure in the USN. What a pain they were to keep clean -- wear it for a four-hour watch, and it needed cleaning again! No more, and never again!
Indeed Sir! Truly a dazzling urbanite.
ReplyDeletetotally gay dude
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Captain,
ReplyDeleteFar be it for me to criticize your choice of tie, but I recommend a new one, mono-tone white. or matching the shirt.
Also, violin case with tommy gun.
Enjoy your Miami Vice fantasy.
ReplyDeleteWHAT!!!? You guys are all crazy. That is one sharp lookin' suit!
ReplyDeleteSince there are no sharks in South Dakota, I can only say that your habiliments have jumped the walleyed pike.
ReplyDeleteI am normally in agreement with you Cappy, but I have to say black or grey is better. That's just my opinion not criticizing.
ReplyDelete*giggle*

Ha! OK, you all want to know what I'm going to do!!?
ReplyDeleteEXECUTIVE RULING.
I will overrule and veto everybody's vote and decree by executive order that the white suit is indeed awesome and I shall have no shame in wearing it.
Yeah, how about them apples!
Jump the walleye. Sheesh you guys are brutal
ReplyDelete"I shall have no shame in wearing it."
ReplyDeleteMystery felt the same way about the fuzzy black top hat.
Been playing LA Noire lately?
ReplyDeleteCappy ... sorry, I usually agree with you but this makes you look as gay as a French horn blowing into a rainbow colored mute.
ReplyDeleteNO GUY WHO OWNS A HARLEY AND A SERIOUS AUTOMATIC WEAPON WOULD EVER BE SEEN WEARING SUCH AN EFFEMINATE AFFECTATION!
Wearing that suit would get you hired as Truman Capote's gay house boy, but dates with babes? ... Tangos with hot Latinas? ... not a chance.

no
ReplyDeleteI've already got a white suit. Where's my prize?
