But the problem with democracies come down to essentially the problems with human beings in general. At one end of the spectrum virtually everything might be regulated, at the other end nothing is. Such extremes would be representative of Nazi Germany and warlord Somalia, respectively. By contrast the problems with 'freedom of ideas' incurred in a Representative Republic, though not trivial, are far more desireable.
