great article. as a minimalist, i highly recommend it and you are right. if you can curb yourself from mass consumerism that is the usa; you can live very cheaply and if you can live with taking freebies from the govt, its even easier. i dont seek out govt freebies, but am more and more content every day with being a minimalist and not killing myself for more than i need when i know over 50% of every tax dollar i pay is for entitlements. the govt can play someone else for a sucker, i'm out.
