Karma Does In Fact Exist...Thank God

  1. Yes. What the Captain said is most certainly true. To glean even greater value from it, consider the flip side. All those morals and values everyone told you to live by since you were a kid. Those are not (primarily) in place to make the lives of others better. They are in place to make YOUR life better, by avoiding the inevitable fate of the immoral people Cappy described.

Only watched halfway through, but you're recommending laziness. 'Society will punish them'. Well, you're part of society, too - take /your/ turn doing some punishing, so you're worthy of the benefit that you get from other people actively punishing /other/ bad people.

Karma does exist. Always has and always will. That is why one needs to put out as much good karma as one can. Bad karma will always come back to bite you in the rear-end. Always.

Being an old guy, I've seen a lot a bad karma directed in my direction by others, for whatever reason? What has almost always happened, is bad karma, usually two or three times as worse as what happened to me, being visited upon these bad karma individuals or organizations. It's the universe or the ying and the yang balancing itself. I've stopped worrying about people wronging me for whatever reason, it's not worth my precious time to "get back" at them. Karma will take care of it.

  4. Isn't the "Karma" concept a bit metaphysical?
Not to mention a bit utopian/idealistic?
And for one who credits himself for being somewhat of a realist?

Sure, but I have to admit that what Cap says makes sense in terms of how these people approach their lives. Came across 'K' many years ago through my wife's ex. At the time she was a woman in her mid fifties with no appreciable marketable skills and was VERY hungry for Exe's meager earnings. Through the grapevine we found out who she was.

Many moons ago she was shockingly attractive and apparently the old lady of an HA Lieutenant. She used her looks to get by in life as opposed to learning skills which would mean something once those looks would have faded away. That's the point Cap's making, that the cruelest thing one can do to people like this is not to correct their paths and allow them to destroy themselves through ignorance.

Last I heard from 'K' was a facebook post full of drama. She using reverse psychology on my wife's ex stating how lucky she was to no longer be with him as opposed to his current gf. This coming from the woman who 6 years ago was literally stalking Ex and begging for another chance. My wife's Ex is a real winner let me tell you so the fact that she is fighting so hard for someone that 'qualified' is quite revealing.

Perhaps another way of putting it, which is a cautionary lesson for us all, is for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. In your examples, Cap, those people earned what they got through their malicious behavior toward others. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Almost every event in history one can trace back and find what set off that event.

I'm not saying there aren't times to stick up for yourself. There certainly are times to do that. Sometimes, though, just knowing that pos who screwed you is going to reap what they sowed does help.

An ex gf of mine is reaping her reward right now. She's right where this podcast predicted; where only people as dirty, conniving and disgusting as her will have anything to do with her. I can't say I have any sympathy for her. She had a chance at a fresh start with me. Too late now.
