A Lesson About Public Transportation

I find it funny the "best cities to live without a car" also happen to be mostly leftist shitholes where most people can't afford cars (though I will readily admit cost of living in these towns also make it impossible to own a car).

  1. LA was number 9 on the list? The same city that is called the '8 lane parking garage'? Totally lost interest after that.

Cap you are right cities that are ill equipped to handle auto traffic generally are the Dim shitholes that they are.

When gas hit four bucks a gallon I started riding the bus to work in the infected anal sore of the East coast AKA Wilmington Delaware. Ever sit 5 feet away from a homeless guy and smell his ass unwashed for a month smell? Or the drugged out moron who loudly proclaimed he would like to fuck that whenever an attractive woman got on the bus. I carried pepper spray and a big maglite in my briefcase and felt naked. The DELDOT bus drivers did not seem to give a fuck what went on as long as they were left alone.

I started driving again. Better than getting murdered by a Dindu Nuffin.

How about: "The Best Cities to be Murdered in Because - Gun Control".

I wonder how that correlates to crime statistics?

  6. If you've ever talked to anyone that lives in LA, it's placement on this list is hilarious.

  7. Back when I lived up north, friends used to wonder why I'd pay $40 to park in Boston, rather than take the train for $5. Worth. Every. Penny.

Walkable cities produce the firmest and tightest and best girls, though.

Charm City. On this list? Take a walk on the wild side.

No one in their right mind walks around Baltimore or uses public transportation. One in ten residents are addicted to heroin. Almost half of working age Baltimoron's do not work. Baltimore is the nation's playground for robbery, rape, addiction, and murder. At least two hit TV police dramas (Homicide and The Wire) capitalized on Baltimore's problems. Idle hands are the devil's playground.

    What a joke!

  10. I lived in LA, and this is NOT a city that's doable without having a car. I mean, try walking from edge of Ventura county line to San Pedro Harbor. Wouldn't recommend it as it's about 50 miles away.

  11. I've been personally in most of these cities--grew up around Chicago even--and one thing that it's very clear these guys miss is that if your travel pattern is not into and out of the city center, transit will not work well for you, even in Chicago, Boston, or New York. The trick is that if you're going in the direction of the beltways, you will spend an extra hour or two taking transit because you will almost always be directed to city center.

It's strange that the left can't figure this one out, as it actually would be fairly straightforward to fix.

  12. Honestly, it's not the transit that makes these cities shitholes, just the delusional people who don't know how an economy works.
