Looks like the view from the approach to Bainbridge Island's old Winslow harbour ...
While in town, check out Mora's in old Winslow if you like very nicely done ice cream carbs -- they have some of the best ice cream anywhere in the States.
Maybe Emmy's still there dishing out tasty veggie Chinese plates -- that's the best $8 you can spend there, and it's fairly close to the docks for small craft.
The travel shop in town will make you think that all "the Island" really needs is a great ship's chandler to have nearly all you really need.
It's nice enough over on "the Island" that it makes you forget that shitty Seattle is across the Sound from it.
If your sailing takes you down to Bremerton instead, see if the guy who runs the barbecue joint is still doing his thing on the docks -- he has the best barbecue in the Pacific Northwest because his is Houston style ...
I'm giving you this advice because I want you to enjoy your time there -- Seattle and the whole Puget Sound's ruined for me, so I'll probably never go back.
Some Post Alley Crackpots have to leave Post Alley so they can give up being a crackpot. :-)
So you have made it to the Left Coast after all.....
ReplyDeletePlenty of craft whiskey to sample lately.

Is that the "Obsession"? We did that a few years back. Great trip and good value.
ReplyDeleteYou've picked a great time to visit. We've had incredible weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cap, I needed that today.
