Interesting article, if a little long. While informative, I couldn't help but notice a few shots against conservatives and the Trump administration, so there's some bias here.
As Stefan Molyneux put it once in his podcasts . . .
The dum-dums need more overt cultural signals to know how to behave in certain circumstances, because they're not smart enough to use reason, evidence, and values to both push for their own self-preservation away from the herd, and for their own long-term satisfaction in life.
Since the cultural signals out there have gone haywire and are soaked in leftism, the incentives are topsy-turvy. So follows the dum-dums, who need that tribal identity to find their own sense of self-worth.
I think that Schopenhauer said it best . . .
"Nature shows that with the growth of intelligence comes increased capacity for pain, and it is only with the highest degree of intelligence that suffering reaches its supreme point."
The smarter ones out there, like us, suffer the most, because we have to live with the dum-dums.
