"The city’s director of regulatory services, Noah Schuchman, said the goal is not to halt rentals through Airbnb or other platforms. Rather, they are mulling questions like how they might be inspected and what fees or taxes would be appropriate."
Heh. Of course career politicians would think that the government has a right to any and all income the residents generate. I remember a months ago reading how when the Somalis were being dumped in small towns all over the place politicians told people that if they don't like it, to leave. I think they should've done precisely that. Liquidate your holdings and buy into one of those SpaceX colony transports.
Whenever someone, or a group of people for that matter, come up with a really great idea, you can always count on government regulators (typically spurred on by their brainless constituents) to somehow fuck it up.
"We will be working with the sharing industry to make sure this functions.”
It's not a "sharing" effort. It's straight up exchange for goods or services. Sharing implies no exchange of monetary value. It shows how stupid millennials are that they buy into this "sharing economy" bullshit. It's marketing genius but it's still the same exchange for goods and services that has existed since we started exchanging shiny things for other thing. Just now it's sold with a slightly hipper rap.

Why aren't they putting these Muslims in Detroit? They'd probably feel right at home...
