I failed to included "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." That would dethrone "Lost in Translation" if I were to re-edit the list.
Also I have been working on a new site: www.olderbrother.com which has been taking the majority of my time this week. Posts and production will return to normal come Monday.
You should look up the Gundam shows and movies as well, Captain. Lots of good manly energy, especially G Gundam.
ReplyDeleteGood list, maybe a few honorable mentions:
ReplyDeleteJeremiah Johnson
Apollo 13
World's Fastest Indian
Shawshank Redemption
Just watched the Diehard. Yeah, I get the theme, man overcoming odds, but the odds were too outlandish and cartoonish to hold my interest. And what was with all the blue pill sniveling about his wife at the end?
ReplyDeleteI like the Good, the Bad, the Ugly much better, a much more subtle and nuanced film, IMO.
Best movie ever: His Girl Friday with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. Wittiest dialogue ever on film, splendid take on male-female relationships, first movie to have natural dialogue (people talking over one another).
