    Just in case anyone thinks private citizens actually own public companies. Public companies are government owned in practice.

    The SEC prohibits poor people from investing and losing their hats in small-time scams like many otherwise would. As such, people don't learn fast. Most don't even manage to learn basic lessons like "profit matters" before they die. The poor stay poor and the rich get richer. Thanks Uncle Sam!
