I'm an electrician by trade and training, and I've made over $100K every year for more than a decade. There is really only one hard rule. Show up, every day, on time and ready to do as you're told. The rest will come with experience.
Truth is most people in the trades do not make 100k a year. That's for those highly skilled, willing to travel and/or in a good market. You will probably make between $40k-60k for electricians, plumbers, HVAC. Less for hammer and nails guys.. Young man you have at least 3 years of apprenticeship before you are even worth $20 an hour. And as the Captain has said no one is going to take you seriously until you are in your 30s so that 100k a year is a ways off. What you do now is work, build skills, save money in a retirement account and spend as little as you can now.
Tradesmen in cities were the first to gain rights in medieval Europe. They are still the ones with more rights now. Nothing trumps production.
