Georgetown Students Vote for Good Feels

I'd go into a long diatribe, but you already know what the points would be.

I will point out THEY are not paying for it.  College students do not pay for anything.  Their parents and the taxpayers do.

  2. The stupid thing is that the fee price is based on the number of slaves, not any actual calculated figure. So it really is nothing more than virtue signalling. Furthermore, it was the university that was saved financially by selling those 272 slaves, not the students, but now it's the students that have to pay. Most of those students will not have had slave owners as ancestors, a lot of their ancestors probably didn't even live in the state, let alone in Georgetown. Nearly every single student there has absolutely no connection to those past events (that were perfectly normal and acceptable at the time I might add) and have never received any benefit from it, even tangentially.

Really, the students going there today should be absolutely livid that they're being forced to pay for the sake of someone else's feels (because that's what they're actually paying for) even if it is such a small amount (it's the principal of it that matters). But of course they're students; if they had half a brain they wouldn't be going in the first place.

Couldn't the university just do a buyback program to make up for the injustice of their past sales?

  4. I am an alumnus of Georgetown University. I will never donate money to my alma mater.

  5. I will donate all my money to reparations. My only question is: will they take a check?
