Global warming my ass!

I'll take the freaking tornadoes they got in Florida over this schtick!

  2. Yes, it's obvious that global warming is real and here to stay, isn't it? And man-made. And we're to blame. After all, we know everything there is to know about the climate and the weather and the planet right now.

No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Diasagree, and you are a Weather Heretic. Accurate records have only been kept for the past century and a half or so, and the ability to predict the weather is...well, iffy at best (ask any survivor of the Armistice Day storm of 1940 how much warning they got).

But I digress. No doubt this intense heat wave we're having is because we're pumping so much pollution into the air. It Is Obviously All Our Fault, and there is only one solution that I see advocated by progressives.

    Halt progress.

Ah, but they're not just talking about Global Warming anymore. Now it's "global climate change", which basically lets them attribute anything except pleasant sunshine and clear skies to human activity. Any increase or decrease in temperatures anywhere is seen as evidence to support the global climate change theory. Convenient, isn't it?

    Yeah.

It's hard to get worked up about Global Warming when Albertans like myself usually suffer through winters that are dominated by the evil Arctic Vortex and his twisted sidekick Pacific Stormfront, bringing us temperatures that can drop below -22 (degrees F) at night with snow.

Who the Hell do I phone at the U.N. to vote for global warming?

  5. Duly noted, but right as I sup my coffee and rumpleminz it's a whopping -10 now, I say the globe can go to hell

  6. Mr. Fuller makes an excellent point. Note how the terminology has changed to suit the needs of those spouting the rhetoric? Form "The Great Cooling" to "We're All Going To Bake To Death!" to "Global Climate Change", with the underlying them of, regardless, it's All Our Fault, and we must change our evil sinful ways.

Which means stop capitalism, of course, not necessarily keep the advocates of this position from being able to fly to Switzerland in large jets to attend these conferences at taxpayer expense.

I wish I hadn't forgotten the source of a nice article which said that if you work for ANY international organization in Geneva, Switzerland, you don't have to pay taxes!

  8. Here's some solid advice: get out of Minnesota! Phoenix is lovely all year round. Yes, even in the summer. Sure, 125 degrees is a little much to deal with, but when the sun goes down and you're sitting outside in 100 degrees with no humidity (or mosquitos) and decide to take that late night swim, I can think of worse situations.

Better yet, when you're getting a tan in 85 degrees on Christmas, it's a wonderful time to call all of your friends back where you came from (Chicago for me). It's always good for a giggle.

There's so many more reasons to hate Minnesota besides the weather

Great post! Very entertaining. Minnesota is still the best though and has the best things to offer! I recently stumbled upon this blog that I found pretty funny in its bashing of Minnesota: http://burisonthecouch.wordpress.com/2009/06/23/theres-no-place-like-home-sort-of/

Thanks for the post! Minnesota rocks!
