Enterprise Rent A Car

I meant to make this post a year ago, but got sidetracked and procrastinated with getting a You Tube account. I only wished I posted it earlier to cost them more business.

Never, ever, rent from Enterprise. And here's not only one reason why you should never rent from Enterprise;

but another reason why you should never rent from Enterprise.

I will spare you the details, but their customer service sucks, they won't repair anything with the car unless "they" can prove you didn't purposely damage their car (because obviously that's what you sent out to do), and if you're stranded in the middle of Wyoming with two flats BECAUSE THEIR TIRES WERE BALD AT 2/32's OF THICKNESS WHEN THEY LEFT THE LOT, they won't help you and will instead leave it up to you to find a way to get the disabled car 150 miles to Rapid City.

This is not hyperbole, this is not rhetoric, this is just plain simple truth. Do not rent from Enterprise ever.

Oh, and to anybody from Enterprise's marketing department that might have googled or Binged your name, yeah, you effed with the wrong guy.

  1. Did you seriously rent from Enterprise on your own? It wasn't a corporate travel policy or a damaged-car rental...why not go with a quasi reputable company like Hertz or Avis?

Hertz has never given me a bad car, at least at non-franchise locations. The rates are extortionate for 1-day during the week, but decent for weekly or weekend. Avis maybe has inferior cars and slightly less good maintenance, but is cheaper for short rentals during the week.

I'm trying not to be a smart ass here, but why didn't you check the tires before you left? I mean, the sidewalls already look look like something's wrong with it.

Anyway, I hope you sue the shit out of those bastards.

By the way, what exactly did you try to do to the rear tire in the second video?

I agree, Enterprise sucks. Consumerist.com has all sorts of bad stories from stupid Enterprise stunts and customer disservice failures.

In the second video, the Cap'n is trying to put a rubber plug in the tire's puncture, but I've never seen it done on a wheel still mounted on the car. I'd think it would be much easier if the wheel were taken off.

Well, at least the spare had good tread.

That must have been one heck of a bad trip - three flats.

So for the rest of you going into the vast untamed reaches of nowhere, take your tools and a few cans of "fix a flat".

  4. Hi Dr. Bob,

Well the reason the tire was still on the car is because the jack they provide started to bend and buckle when we got our 2nd and 3rd flat. SO the only thing to do was keep pumping it with fix a flat (which is a rare commodity in Lusk, WY) and the only way to fix it was to keep it on the car.

rule #1 on vacation if you have to have a rental car get a good one Fact#1 Enterprise does not have 'good rental cars' I learned the hard way also years ago - spend cheap you learn to be a mechanic

Caution about the 50k note -that comes under extortion & i'll wager Enterprise has a buncha lawyers to deal with stuff like this when it begins to get out of hand

    good luck
