DAMN! He sure told you. Just imagine all the wonderful literary contributions he will create after he gets another 4 years of school.

  2. perhaps he's angry because he secretly knows he's not a good writer......

  3. Looks like he's going to be the next JD Salinger.

What with the aversion to criticism, spelling and punctuation errors, bad grammar, foul language, name-calling, and ad-hominem attacks in place of a logical argument, I would reliably bet that he* is a fanatical supporter of Obama and the Democratic Party, a lifetime leftist, and most likely a 'true believer' of marxism/socialism.
Chances are that 'he' is also a possible future graduate of a public high school.

*If the author is actually a 'he'; these traits are also the hallmarks of feminists and their "useful idiots".

  5. Long speech-recognition and spell-check software if this small-minded writer is ever considered viable.

So, he received an A+ in Creative Writing? I judge that stream of bullshit to be worthy of an F-. Come back to us when you can demonstrate a basic command of the English language, sonny boy.

Not very wise to start shit with someone who has a MUCH broader audience than yourself. This country is so screwed if this represents our future thinkers!!

Is it just me or are the writing skills of these future journalist
horrible? thy say they are 17 but make writing errors that a 4th grader should not make.

I'm sure the "writer" will never see the irony of his comment.

  10. Unless he thinks he's the next e.e. cummings you should also flag the uncapitalized letters at the beginnings of sentences.

You try to help these kids. They try to tell you that they are intelligent while using profanity and insults. As a certain Jedi master in the movie that should not be named, "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."

  12. Wow. And they say the current generation is thin skinned and unable to take criticism. This young lad just proved them totally...

    ...right.

I wonder if he'll ever look back at this and recognize that the short stories he published in his paper were probably completely horrible and the adults that published them probably did so, not because they liked the stories, but because they wanted to support the dreams of a young, aspiring lad like himeslf?

How ashamed would he be to know that it was probably charity that got him published, mroe than talent?

What school gives a kid with such poor grammar and utter lack of sentence structure an A++ in writing?

Wow! Roll over Shakespeare, we've got a real bad ass here. Can't wait to read his/her's first "noval".

  18. Once this person improves his/her vocabulary, nothing will ever cause him/her to stick. But just perhaps this is the exception that proves the rule that only "STEM" subjects matter.

I hope the poster's English teacher reads this and is ashamed.

Reading the referenced diatribe, I am inclined to suggest that a minor - if revealing - spelling error is the least of this writer's problems...

HAHA! This kid doesn't have a chance of becoming a serious writer. He doesn't have the mentality for it, or at least not the maturity. He clearly cannot present a clear, rational argument to support his case. Instead he resorts to vulgar obscenities when challenged.

He should just stick to blog commenting like the rest of us.

  22. Classic! Here's the funny part: When I got the first national gig anchoring news (of course other people did the writing for us)... I was told to THROW OUT EVERYTHING I LEARNED ABOUT JOURNALISM IN COLLEGE & that my delivery needed to be done 'on the fifth grade level' to match the writing style of the script.

The 'journalists' on television are actors, and MOST of this acting involves specific body language. They that do not understand this... will never get that 'big break'

Even with the prevalence of automatic spell-checking, this fool still can't get it right?

He has about as much chance of being a serious writer as I have of being the next Lebron James.

Sadly, the only thing that comes across in his writing is a gross sense of entitlement; "I got an A+ in creative writing." Yeah junior, so did I when I was in high school.

Too bad there is no such thing as affirmative action in the literary field (mainstream journalism aside).

This fucker is gonna need it. But, with his attitude of entitlement and adherence to institutionalized credentialism, he should have no problem getting a job writing for a MSM outlet.

The first run-on sentence is a dead giveaway of this person's 'talent.'

I'll give this person a pass because they are obviously young and quite delusional.

That being said, I could write better than this person when I was in 6th grade. Truly sad.

This writing would be quite impressive...if the author has Down's Syndrome.

  27. This world should have NEVER eschewed the ethos of professionalism...the idea that certain trades and practices should only be handled by those with specialized skills and knowledge, and that such persons should be the ones in charge of said operations/occupations/professions.
The modern world puts too many things in the hands of the average person...gives the mediocre too much command over areas that used to be reserved for the specialized.

Oh man.........This is just pathetic. His school and community newspapers must have extremely low standards if they publish his "stories." He has a bright future as a low-wage service worker! Somehow, I get the feeling that he is "urban," if you know what I mean.

My major was accounting, and my minor was English Lit. Even though I studied English in the 2000s, I was lucky to get old-school professors, which meant I didn't have to suffer through even the slightest bit of postmodernism or deconstructionism. Those professors made you work HARD.

I think journalism majors are tied with education and film majors for being the dumbest. I once took a 400 level film class because I needed it for an elective requirement, and when I exchanged papers with other students for peer-reviewing, I was shocked to see that they wrote no better than a 7th grader.

By the way, it doesn't seem that we can reply to the kid's post on YouTube. Any way to fix that?

    Obama's Student Loan Forgiveness
    http://www.ktbs.com/story/25734002/local-college-reacts-to-president-obamas-student-loan-forgiveness

I knew this was coming, now you can rack up a ton of student loan debt and it just does not matter. Of coarse the devil is in the details.

Degrees are accountable to the real world market value of the skills they provide. For now degrees in victimhood will have stable employment for the peddlers of the entrenched left orthodoxies.

Why do we have debt, what is its purpose? God forbid you are an honest person who keeps their word. So expect education prices to continue to rise. Defaulting is now a government encouraged option. So go for the max on STEM education, become a doctor, just go for broke.

Just remember it is well documented that those who live the lying, stealing and cheating others way of life and or the baby mom-ma lifestyle, no amount of socialism/Marxism, debt forgiveness will pull them out of poverty.

  34. What school gives a kid with such poor grammar and utter lack of sentence structure an A++ in writing?

Why, a publik skool, of course. This is kid is going to be the 21st Century's Mencken, don'tcha know?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hope the poster's English teacher reads this and is ashamed.

Assuming that this kid attends publik skool (and this seems obvious), his/her Inglish teechir probably proofread the draft at least twice and probably found it to be flawlessly executed.

Just for the benefit of readers in the UK and elsewhere abroad, you should be aware that graduates of American teechirz collages overwhelmingly rank in the bottom quartile of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT, the test administered to high school seniors and used by universities to screen for admissions). Therefore those who teach not only can't do, but don't generally even know.

What a great rant! I just wish we could instantly see his future to see if he's selling insurance, cars, or working at wal-mart. Or, if not so successful, smoking weed and living at home.
