Youth are especially attracted to Athiestkultism because they've just discovered atheism. They figure they've been lied to, and now it's them against the world. So out comes the nasty push-back, mocking, etc. Fast forward 30 years, now these people have seen enough of the human condition to realize that the belief systems don't matter much compared to a person's character. So a decent, useful, independent adult thinks the world is 5000 years old? Who cares? Just think of all the ways a person can be a lousy adult, and be glad that particular adult got to where he is.
