I don't know if any of you have been keeping up with Sinfest (which is now the second best web comic next to "Least I Could Do,") but he's taken a really femmy approach recently.
Or has "he?"
I will go out on a limb here and predict he's let a girl write the past 2 months of comics and has simply illustrated them. The change is too abrupt, too quick, and frankly, has gone against his historical style.
Love ya Tatsuya baby! Keep up the feminist line! Soon "Control Alt D" will become #2 (remember that comic...until he got all sappy with the child and marriage thing? Oh yeah, that's right, I don't. I stopped reading after the child and marriage thing along with pretty much every one guy that was his fan base).
Oh, and didn't "Scrubs" end shortly after it got all femmy?
Bah! What does the "market" know!? Men will just eat whatever garbage we feed them.
Swear to god the Manosphere is about the only cove out there for men. Thankfully it's growing.
Yeah, noticed that too. Very disappointed. I also used to read his little blogs "the resistance" but those stopped being updated a loooong time ago.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is new gf who has his sac-in-gauntleted hand.
Funny, I suspected he got a feminist girlfriend and it was "suggested" to him that he write a fem-centric story arc.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, it seems by today's comic that he (wisely) dumped her and is getting back to normal.
Too bad I wont bother reading it again...
The Manosphere might be growing, but my God there is a world of drek out there in it.
ReplyDeletePUA and "PUA-inspired" blogs have got to be the worst interpretation of male / female interaction I have seen since hearing of 50 Shades of Grey.
Every recount reads in the exact same impossible ideal way wherein the "Alpha" protagonist blog author employs all his magical game and frame to get the girl. They're written like fairy tales that we're supposed to believe in - and we're subsequently to believe in the underlying premise: the efficacy of game and the validity of the Alpha / Beta world view.
Decry their idealized stories as fanciful and suddenly you're a "hater." Puh-lease, how is this shaming language any different than the kind Fems use in their rhetoric?
The Manosphere has plenty of good to offer - but it's diverse in nature and one really needs to examine all the parts before figuring out what's out there for your benefit. All some authors want is an echo-chamber of sycophants. They don't give a damn about applying any of their advice - they simply want agreement.
A good example? Just throw Mentu a curve ball and watch him delete / ban critics and naysayers who aren't pushovers. Far easier than addressing them!
UMan, FFY, and Roissy come to mind when I think of unicorns and fairy tales. Roosh and Rollo are a lot more realistic and down to Earth about the whole thing. Roosh himself is very realistic about his failures. Mentu and others act like they never happen.
Meh, the newest comic has me wondering when that Old Lady that owns the coffee shop dies and then he has Crim and Fushia give up their love to the Devil so that she can live for a few years longer, while Crim and Fushia are no longer allowed to be together....
ReplyDeleteYes, it is hardly worth looking at. I thought the little ultrafeminist girl roaring around on her trike was a good character for mickery, but not for a hero!
ReplyDeleteSic transit gloria mundi.
Yeah, the feminism thing is annoying. What happened with the zombie guy? Is he never going to get his story time?
ReplyDeleteI like the Little E arc that's in progress with him being basically a decent person, but that's about the only other plot that's getting any development at the moment and it's a distant second to the feminist cheerleading.
Lib Arts,
ReplyDeleteIt is an absolute pleasure to delete your comments. Makes me feel all warm and gooey inside.
Sometimes I delete them, repost them, then delete them again just for fun.
Thanks for reading UMan though. Glad you're so interested in what I have to say.
I just wish I could return the favor.
The comment section is a good litmus test of the blog author's character. If they heavily moderate and censor it, they are pretty douchey and I stop visiting forever. If they moderate heavily but rarely censor, like this one, I am annoyed and comment way less than I normally would. IMO all blogs that wish to build a dedicated reader base need to turn moderation off for users who have already commented a couple times.
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally I have noticed that feminists, white knights, and other "warm and gooey" PC types are the ones that censor and delete comments. Their blogs usually suck anyway. There are plenty of these types masquerading as manosphere bloggers.
The phrase "You can't handle the truth!" instantly springs to mind.
I'd never heard of it until reading your blog post today. Neither of the comics you linked gave me a reason to read further.
ReplyDeleteYeah, just went back through the previous cartoons. Let us know if they ditch the new fem focus.
ReplyDeleteThat feminazi stance is not new for Sinfest. I stopped following it a couple of years back for the same reason. I have yet to come across a firmly non-feminist web cartoon.
ReplyDeleteGo read daybydaycartoon and enjoy. You are welcome!
