Our local financial talk host who also manages multimillion dollar accounts for many is a speculator. took me a while to figure him out, but I'm 99% sure he's a moving average investor and using things similar to the 100 and 200 day moving average as to when he will reduce or increase market exposure and imo he's going to get burned to a higher degree over time as more and more people and algos increased the speed of declines and advances reducing the gentleness of moving day averages to save your portfolios(but that's "speculation" on my part). anyways, he's not buying stock on fundamentals; although he does look at them before buying; he buys if in a bull trend and that's speculation.
With the markets north of 20 PE the idea that one can make a 'secure investment' is a joke. Especially when one considers that the Fed is will probably do a pull back by the end of the year and yielding markets collapsing as a consequence.

Everybody speculates, that's true.
