Of More Intellectual Fair

Is it "fare" or "fair?" I don't know.

Regardless, a more thoughtful piece about youngsters realizing they have to work.

Interesting article.

The paragraph about the survey showing less than a quarter of young college grads could find Saudi Arabia, etc. on a map lettered with the countries' names caught my attention. As a last resort why didn't they think to just start in one corner and look at each country on the map until they found the one they were looking for? What exactly are they teaching in school these days (I'm looking at you, Sindy)?

Technology providing quick and easy access to information is fantastic - you can spend more of your time creating something of value rather than wasting it locating and memorizing the information you need. It isn't of any use if you can't figure out where to begin working toward a solution to your problem, and I get the impression problem solving and analytical thinking are not taught in school anymore.

Being able to independently figure out how to use the available information to succeed is a vital skill to have today; it's a shame so many people don't have it and aren't taught it.

If you think of "fare" as "food", you'll never forget the difference.

"Fare" though is any form of consumption that leads to enjoyment.
