True, but look at that drop immediately following Prohibition. The massive increase in crime in the 1960s can be attributed to the Baby Boomers being pretty much the Worst Generation Ever. The Captain has documented that pretty thoroughly by this point.
It's interesting that the murder rate increased by nearly 500% between 1900 and 1910. I wonder what was going on there.
