Oh, Don't Worry, It's "Love"

It will make you shake your head, but put a smile on your face with a sad laugh afterwards. I'd like to editorialize, but really, what else could I add to the story?

This line caught my eye:

Even where no money is exchanged, this sort of behaviour destabilises local communities and families.

Really? There are enough Western women going on vacations for sex tourism in third world resorts to destabilize whole communities? I find that hard to believe. More likely some of the local boys are finding a way to earn some decent money on the side.

"The problem comes, she says, when the women start believing the men they have hooked up with are in love with them. "They confuse what is actually a financial transaction with real love."

As a great philosopher once put it, "there is no sex, in the Champagne Room."

Years ago, when I was in the Navy, we would go to ports in the Pacific. European women would be vacationing there and pick up on US sailors in port. Austrailia it was the local women and it was insane. I left with more money than I arrived with.

I swear to god the IQ of people these days has dropped so low that what is obvious seems like a revelation.

Really?

We so deserve the decline

What gives me hope is that the fact that these older fatties are going to 3rd world nations for sex is because men in the west are rejecting them. This is something to be very happy about.

The rationalization hamsters in these female sex tourists are undeniably strong.

Support the third world. Reject a fat chick today!

So, let me see if I have this correct. A man travels to wherever and hooks up with a sweet young (over 18 though) thing for the night. And he is a pervert, degenerate, and this type of trade should be made illegal.

A woman takes a vacation and let's her private parts do the thinking for her, and somehow, it is harmless fun?

Thanks for the link-love and the hat tip, @Capt.Capitalism!

Women are absolutely exempt when it comes to sex tourism...and sadly, the UN is pampering their entitled, above the law princesses perfectly.

What is this? The captain citing and supporting an article where the research into this phenomenon is performed by a sociologist?!

Hell hath frozen over! I knew you were a closet sociologist!!!

"Take Jamaica, where 17 per cent of the population lives below the poverty line."

What's the point of this? Isn't the U.S. as high or higher than this right now? Guess we shouldn't be exporting the sex trade then?

"Though 60 per cent admitted to certain 'economic elements' to their liaisons, they did not perceive their sexual encounters as a prostitute-client transaction. Instead they insisted they were helping the men, and the local economy, by giving them money and gifts."

Poor hamster, he must be exhausted...

There are very strict rules at the hotel about staff and guests so I knew I had to make the first move. I told him I was going for a walk on the beach - and we spent our first night together. It was very romantic.

OK. I'm beginning to get the idea of what women think is "romantic".

LOL, I bet Jamaican poverty is defined a little differently than US poverty.

I'd really like the US "poor" to live in Jamaica for a while so they can figure out how good they really have it. (And then we renege on our promise to let the US poor come back here when the lesson is over, heh heh heh.)
