Nice Suit

I've been catching up on my full DVD series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."  Among the many other things I like about the show, the fashion is one of those things.  Thought this suit looked incredibly sharp.

I like the trim and slim suits of that period but don't like the 'birth control' eyeglasses.

I agree with you and I think the very closely cut, narrow lapel narrow tie look is coming back. Unfortunately to pull off this look you have to be built like a 16 year old. I am not fat, but I am substantially bigger than I was at 16. Its the same with womens haute couture. Even a well built sleek adult has a hard time pulling it off because its better suited to 13 year old girls than adult women. Short of a North Korean style diet, most of us will never be built for it. - minuteman

Like the suit and pocket handkerchief. Slim lapels and tie look sharp. The tie color and pattern look nice, but the white shirt offers too little contrast. Beige would be better. The tie bar is crimping the collar too much. The rounded collar is cool.

The glasses ruin everything, but that was the best technology had to offer.

One thing the 20th century up until the 1960s had was style. That's why I like Mad Men so much. Smoking, Drinking, and Suits.

Minuteman - Men who don't look like 16 year olds can always reference the 1940's.

I would pay money to have men start dressing like how they looked mattered again. With real hats as well.

Yep, "casual fridays" which became casual all the time was the final nail in the coffin.

Since I'm an office nerd, I make a point of wearing suit now at client, or in the office.

Because.

Believe or not I had a client complain to my bosses boss about it.

We have no dress code at Company X but if someone wears a suit and tie we'll ding you.

Boomer asshole didnlt even have the guts to tell me.

Tab collar with a collar pin - such a solid look.

I recently went out and bought a couple new suits just because I like dressing up (my work does not require it either but no one has complained yet). I also bought a new Stetson Fedora and have received several compliments.

As far as the glasses go, I have an old pair from the Navy, I have kept them because they are perfect for taking camping. Indestructible and I just keep updating the prescription. Recently my younger sister pointed out that they are really in style so I wore them to work. Lots of compliments, so it's OK again.
