Okay, Cappy, here's the thing about Mormons in Utah: It's one of very few areas where being a Mormon is a social advantage rather than conferring a social malus. Making it the sheeps' clothing of choice for wolves. Plenty of people who go through the motions of being a Mormon in public but don't believe enough to keep their covenants behind closed doors. Post-Sexual-Revolution, this includes women who buy into the lies of the Sexual Revolution about liberating oneself.
(Also, it's not the South. It's _really_ not the South.)
