Heh, if only it were only going to cost 1% of GDP.
Though, permit me a cynical question or two;
1. What percentage of the Americans that were asked this even know what GDP stands for? and
2. What percentage of them even know what percent of GDP is left after government taxes?
Boy, Russia with a flat tax and what are presumably sane people is starting to look more and more attractive every day.

Then again, asking the Russians if they want the Earth to warm up a little is kind of a no-brainer.
"Are you crazy? It's freaking freezing here!"
Interesting. I work in the wizard's tower of a corporation you have heard of. Last week, was honestly asked by someone " What is GDP " . She is a colleague.
"What is GDP" Good question, after all, once you start looking what goes into that number, it makes "global Adjusted temperature data" look like seem like a flower of honesty and logic.
Mind you so long as you measure GDP the SAME way everytime it's at least a useful-ish yardstick. Unlike the temp data.
Same thing as "inflation" especially short term inflation numbers from governments. That's a can of worms, and the more you know about the number the less you believe.

Ever been to/heard Russia in the summer? Brutal hot. That continnental climate has crazy swings.
Is the poll questions sort of like asking how much of GDP would you put towards Santa Clause's heart transplant?
