Rantings and tirades of a frustrated economist.
i've done well on tinder back in 2013-14, in a "target-rich" environment, and I'd say I had an 80% flake rate.your analysis is spot-on....time waste
I used Tinder just to see what the hubbub was all about. To quote an old girlfriend of mine, "it is like shopping for shoes in a garbage can".
Well I agree to some of your points and i feel at some point of time it becomes redundant and boring unless someone is really good at striking conversation. And it is a mixed feeling, on one hand it has a comfort of being a stranger and you can be absolutely frank and straight forward. On the other hand when you ask people to join on FB or whatsapp, there is a sense of consciousness that they are no longer strangers and they know a bit about you now. It is my personal experience but also from students I work with when they share their experiences.
I would say personality is big part of it:https://www.careerplanner.com/MB2/TypeInPopulation.cfmI'm more of INTJ which I can say has not made my life all that fulfilling when interacting with most of society in terms of dating or work.
