You Will Visit Mark J Perry

I escaped the Carlson School of Management with only my bachelors. They tried to get me to become a full dark sith lord and get my MBA, but I did not. Sadly Prof. Perry got him MBA from the Carlson School.

That being said, don't hold it against him, he posts some pretty good charts. And I find this one befitting as he is in Michigan;

From his post.

I think the real story is in the individual model sales. American auto makers are still pushing big, powerful trucks and SUVs (and put a hemi in a station wagon ffs) in spite of the high cost of gas. Actual sales of trucks and SUVs have declined significantly, meanwhile sales of small cars are increasing. The Yaris is up something like 80%.

There are systemic problems in the US automakers and the relationship with their workers, but I think even more significant is the simple fact that they are not making the vehicles that people want to buy.
