Dealing with Kim Jong Il

This is pretty much how every real American male below the age of 40 that has not yet been emasculated by society and still has a little John Wayne in him views the situation with North Korea and the utter spinelessness of not just the UN, but the US, Japan, Russia, China and in general our current day leaders.

If you haven't bought your LICD comic book, then I suggest you get on it.

I'm sorry, the boomers no longer hold any hope to guide or help this nation. They are irrelevant as far as history is concerned.

The hope rests in Gen X and Gen Y.

Oh crap....never mind.

Cap - It's that kind of thinking that brought us 'Change! Change! Change!' and 'Yes we can! Yes we can!'

Think again. It has nothing to do with generations. Stupidity does not discriminate.

But as soon as we get a better thesaurus, I ma sure we can find a really harsh adjective to use against Kim Jong Il.

Note another wrinkle is that the very existence of North Korea is a result of the first UN run "war/police action" to all intents and purposes. Wow, that really worked out well did it not?

The very day after the Soviet Union fell, President POWinCA would have had his forces invade Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan in rapid succession. Then move on to Pakistan, Venezeula, Libya, Syria, and Palestine as necessary.

If anyone threatened retaliation I'd say, "Whatchu gonna do bout it? Huh?"

But that's just me.

Great idea. An American Empire spanning the globe. Just think, if that had happened, Obama would now be ruining the economy of the whole planet, instead of just the US.

Well, that's not quite right. Korea was divided into occupation zones at the end of WWII before the UN was established. The Soviet Union was supposed to stop at the 38th parallel during the war but Japanese forces reported them crossing it. Hearing this, American forces occupied southern Korea. After the war, the Soviet Union and the US agreed to administer their respective halves of the country (divided by the 38th parallel) for five years. During the intervening time, of course, each side strongly influenced the political ideology of their governed territories.

In 1948 the UN tried to supervise free elections, but the now-Communist North refused to participate. Both the North and South claimed sovereignty over the whole peninsula which is why North Korea invaded South Korea in 1950 (with Soviet and Chinese support).

The UN Security Council was able to vote to repel the invasion only because the Soviet Union was boycotting the Council over inclusion of the Republic of China (Taiwan) instead of the People's Republic of China on the Security Council. Otherwise, they could have vetoed any UN action.

So, without the Soviet Union or the Chicoms to inhibit the UN and with France temporarily our grateful ally, the UN actually chose to face down tyranny with more than just an angry letter.

The UN has never had a bright day since then.

My first action upon becoming president will be to withdraw the US from the UN and kick them out of New York. I think the only reason we allow them to stay is that we've got all their offices bugged. That's probably how Bush knew the UN was helping Saddam evade sanctions.

BTW, if you want to see a good movie about the Korean War, watch Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War.

I watched the movie M*A*S*H* the other day. I found it infantile and repulsive - a load of immature, leftist anti-war nonsense. I don't know why I ever liked the movie or the series when I was growing up.

It's remarkable how the "anti-war" types seem to reserve their opposition to warfare waged by the United States and Great Britain while completely ignoring invasions by communists.

I suppose at this point I should say I disagree with war except in defense, and most US wars don't meet that criteria. They get closer than the Commie bastards, though.

I think categorizing all anti-war types as being blinded to the atrocities of Communism is more than a bit foolish.
