I Spy With My Little Economist Eye...

Here's a picture in today's Star Tribune of a bridge collapse in China due to the earthquake.

What do you spy????

I'll give you a hint, it's a sign of capitalism working in China.

A sign that people are so eager to go to work that they would walk across a collapsed bridge? Or a woman with a large designer purse?

Plus, she's trying to walk across a bridge in high heels.

That woman looks like coming straight out of Bloomingdale's or Harrot's.

To be completly sexest - I will have to go with the woman is wearing pants and dressed liked a woman in western civilization...

The heels and the bag. Correct. I'm wondering if that town is a relatively higher income town she's from. If this earthquake would have struck 10 years ago, I don't even think that would have been a possible picture.

LOL! How difficult do you think it is to get a designer bag in China? Also, heels are not rare there.

Yeah, but only a bourgeoisie capitalist would try to walk across a shattered bridge while wearing heels.

plus there would be cops, fire brigades, ONG's and the UN fencing off the place and forbidding anyone from even getting close to it, leat alone cross it.
ok, a little late :D
