Wally The World's Greatest Economist

And this is exactly how we did it at Norwest (purchased by Wells Fargo back in the 00's)

I actually have the mortgage of my first house with Norwest. I distinctly remember the mortgage broker telling me in 1999 that one of the differences of that company was that they didn't sell their mortgages to other entities, and I was like, "why would they do that anyway?" This was well before I was aware of the large-scale fraud that was possible in the lending and financial industry! I remember them being absorbed by Wells Fargo...but a year or two later I had paid off my mortgage altogether - an achievable goal, as at the time I didn't have a girlfriend/wife.
