Rescuing the Millennials

To be blunt there is no such thing as the "Great American South East."  It's nice, but it lacks mountains, a sin city, and is too heavily populated to give you any sense of adventure or risk.  Thus, unlike my "Great American South West" adventures entailing mountains, deserts, rattlesnakes and gambling, this has largely been a road trip with all the comforts of 24-7 Waffle Houses and Wal-Marts.

However, I did manage to drop in an visit Kerry Lutz in his schwank bachelor pad down in Florida and did a short interview that started out as a an inquiry into Asshole Consulting, but morphed into a pretty decent discussion about the Millennials, what's plaguing them, false self-esteem, and how this is a lack of fathers in families.

Raleigh and Atlanta are the next stops, let the ole Captain know if you're around.

Ha! What brings you to Raleigh? I live there and it's nice, but I wouldn't consider it a destination city....

No mountains? Try the Smokies.

Miami and New Orleans don't count as part of the Southeast?

What time are you coming thru Atlanta?

There's the great north east. Why don't you go hike the great washington state mountains with their snow covered peak. I dare you.

You want adventure, well this is it !

I meant north west.

You want to go on an extreme hiking adventure ? Washington State comes to mind. Dense pine tree forests with abrupt snow covered peaks.

Arizona is a walk in the park in comparison.

Hey Cap,
You'll come through Charlotte on your route between ATL and Raleigh. I'd buy you a cup of coffee on your way through.

Asheville. Good beer, good food, good music, nice scenery.

Research proves that liberals don’t understand cause and effect: http://m.washingtonexaminer.com/shock-study-men-choosing-internet-porn-over-marriage-for-sex-threatening-economy-society/article/2557461

More and more men are choosing internet porn over marriage therefore the cause is internet porn. They might as well done a study on homeless men living under bridges. With more and more men choosing to live under bridges, bridges must be the cause of homelessness. The reason men live under bridges is because they have no choice. Society has taken everything away from them and left them no means to provide for themselves. Ditto pornography. Men having analyzed all of the costs of marriage today vs the limited or non-existent benefits are choosing not to marry. Pornography is just a way to relieve stress without emptying your bank account.

We still need to teach the captain the ways of Miami or New Orleans. He'll change his mind about there being no sin city.

"WOW, the American government built a network of super highways ... I wonder why Americans sensibly built all of their creature comforts around them?"

Let's try this for some Asshole Consulting of my own -- get off the fucking Interstate System and go find something that resembles the America you're looking for.

Why even bother going to Raleigh and Atlanta when it's clear you'll be happier in Minneapolis?

Also, your new captcha thing blows Bender's welding prong ...

I'm around in Raleigh - not sure when you're going to be there or if you've already passed through.

In all fairness, Atlanta has tons of hookers, bars, lounges, and nightclubs, just like Vegas. They just lack the legal casinos!

Well, that, and the glamor. I live north-west of Atlanta... not much to recommend.

Oh! If you make it to Atlanta before the end of the year, check out Lights of Life, at Life University in Marietta. It's a Christmas thing, they light up the campus with massive amounts of Christmas displays. It's worth checking out if you're in the area.
