Why Liberals Never Start Businesses

They're too lazy and they're not intelligent enough to.

And yes, it is that simple:

They're too lazy to work that hard, AND

they just plain don't have the brain power to do so:

But the richest cities are all Liberal.

Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and etc are all Democrats.

Actually, I've known several who did. When I saw them a few years later, they were no longer liberal.

Also consider that George McGovern became the manager of a hotel following his defeat by Nixon in the '72 election. He decided he was no longer liberal because he got sick and tired of all of the regulations he had to comply with in running his hotel.

I suspect if the democrat/socialist started a company..he/she would soon want to rewarded amply for their their risk, hard work and long hours. So the whole idea is moot anyway.

Better yet would be to watch the shift in their politics if their only option for survival was to start a small business from scratch.

Aaron, quick, before anyone else notices, you said "intelligence" instead of intelligent.

I came across this gem years ago and I never forgot it. Small "L" liberal: "If I had a million dollars I'd be happy to share it with others." Old man: "You wouldn't feel that way if you did the work it takes to bank a million."

they are more like neo liberals, not your typical welfare liberal

Uh, Warren Buffett?

Many of the things he has said are things that would get anyone denounced as a stupid socialist with no clue about economics. Which is kind of hard to say, though, about the most successful investor in the history of the universe.

Chris claims (regarding worthless degrees) "'but financial reward is not all that a college education offers to student and the state". If that's true Chris, why do colleges charge students an arm and a leg for degrees that don't pay for themselves?

I have an MBA from Harvard Business School - 1980. I am conservative/libertarian, but I know a lot of my classmates are lefties who started businesses. I started 4 myself.

These leftist business people are capitalists during the day and leftists in social policy and in the voting booth.

Look through the Forbes billionaire list. For every Koch, Singer, Thiel and Malone there is a Soros, Bloomberg, Eli Broad or a Spielberg.

I think what Captain Capitalism is referring to is the Public Employee and Rentier Classes and I agree with him - they are hopeless and plentiful

The left wing examples are almost all crony capitalists.

Cappy seems like he's talking about the radicalised "true believers" rather than the hard working joes with a strong sense of community that they parasite off of.

To be fair rhough, the barriers to entry as a conventional oil company are probably too high for anyone these days. Even if buffe and gates put every penny they had into oil they still couldn't compete on scale with exxon and shell
