Sorry, most of the photos of " Hiroshima" are actually of Yokohama, where I lived in 2002.

My discovery that Rome was also brought down in no small part due to its welfare state, which left its armies defunded and too small to defend the Empire, and its merchants discouraged because their wealth would be expropriated for poor men who didn't work.

Also japan DOES have a welfare system according to Wikipedia. and the same sort of overarching problems caused by it.

Japan has a massive welfare state. The problem with Detroit is that it is filled with Black people.
