Don't think for a moment that the "bio-hazard" is the real reason. Cigarette smoke kills computers. Fast. It only takes a month or two for all the heatsinks and fans inside a computer to get coated in a layer of goo. The dust sticks to this, and before you know it, your computer is insulated, clogged, and overheating. Heat fries the chips.
Computers accumulate a tremendous amount of junk inside even if the air is fairly clean. I don't doubt that smoking next to one would make for a real mess inside after a while.
That said, it's not like you have to lick your fingers when you're done working on it. Make cleaning it a fee if you must, since it is some work.
Either that or make it clear that smoking near it voids the warranty, but that would be a pretty sissy move if you ask me. Saying that it's not covered because someone smoked next to it without telling them about this first is just wrong.
MS is far from perfect, but damn if Apple doesn't indulge in more than their fair share of bullshit.
This sounds like a hoax. Nicotine is not regulated by OSHA. Computers have far more hazardous substances in them than what's in cigarettes (all electronics are considered hazardous waste).
Just more pussification of this country...and fear of bottom feeding lawyers (which would include most of the them!) chasing another ambulance for their own self-serving needs!

Oh c'mon. If you're gonna smoke around your machine, clean it yourself. Heavy dust can kill any computer.
I knew I made a mistake when I saw those "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" ads. Those officially put me off ever getting one again.

But those hip commercials tell me I should.

Be serious, Cappy Cap! Next you'll expect Nike to wash your shoes for you.
Try sending your Dell in for "service" because you got it dirty, see if it's covered in the warranty.

I think this image sums up the situation nicely.
