Again, not to scare all you fellow capitalists out there, I don't want Obama to win the presidency, but I am still cheering him on since he does represent a changing of the old guard.
Going to be a shame if we have to beat him in the presidential election. Would have so much preferred to destroy Hilary.

Other than saying he is the candidate of "change", I have no idea what he claims to be bringing to the table. I guess if you say you are for change - that is all that is needed.
A democrat will win for two reasons: The Republicans are too divided, and the American people never votes for a person, always against. How did you think a Nazi became governor in Californai?
Damnit Captain, stop rooting for the socialist. He's worse than the corrupt whore he's running against.
Yeah better not vote for the democrats ... the republicans haven't f**ked up the US economy have they? Oh yeah, my mistake they have; the dollar is now sinking faster than, well something sinking very fast.
I hope the hell the voters do note put this guy in the White House, no matter their party alliance. He is simply too GREEN to handle the most important political position on earth. He might be viable after 10 years in Washington, but certainly NOT at this time. You wouldn't give an 8 year old a medical license would you?
The only thing that is sinking very fast here is the IQ of some anonymous democratic voter who doesn't want to tell his name because he's a coward like all democrats.
How long will it take till mankind acknowledges that a government has practically no direct influence on the economy. If anyone messed up the economy then it is practically every government in the last 100 years, because they did nothing against teachers unions, high taxes, or red tape.
Just take the current housing bubble as an example. Who's inflated this bubble? Certainly not the President, for he is President of the U.S. of A., and not of the Federal Reserve!

That's the most annoying political argument out there. Yes, the Republicans have screwed up badly. That doesn't mean Socialism is suddenly a good idea, idiot.
"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right." - H. L. Mencken
Ha, well funny.
You say this:
"acknowledges that a government has practically no direct influence on the economy."
and they completely oppose yourself with this:
"If anyone messed up the economy then it is practically every government"
You are a tit, there are many factors effecting the economy, the government is defintiely one of them.
"That doesn't mean Socialism is suddenly a good idea, idiot"
I didn't make that point, my point was that the republicans have screwed the economy. Which you agree with.
Personally I prefer socialist policies, for the simple reason that countries such as france, canada, and those in scandanavia all have higher literacy levels, less poverty and higher gdp per capita than the good ol US of A.

Facts, bitch! All provided courtesy of the CIA World Factbook.
US GDP per capita: $46,000
France GDP per capita: $33,800
Canada GDP per capita: $38,200
Sweden GDP per capita: $36,900
Denmark GDP per capita: $37,400
In the interest of intellectual honesty (after all, I'm not one to make untrue claims, unlike our nameless visitor) I will say that Norway has higher GDP per capita than the US: $55,600. However, it's also worth pointing out that Norway is the world's third largest net exporter of oil, and they've got a population of less than five million. Sometimes you've got such a huge wealth of natural resources that not even Socialism can screw it up entirely. Without their oil jackpot, Norway isn't any different from the rest of the mediocre socialist countries you mentioned.
As for literacy rates, the US has a 99% literacy rate, according to the same source. If some other countries are doing better, then whoopy-doo. That one person in a hundred sure is worth throwing away 20% of your GDP for, huh?
Since the basis for your supporting Socialism has turned out to be untrue, I'm sure you'll be revising your ideologies, right? After all, you wouldn't go claiming to be basing your opinions on facts when that's not actually true, would you?
