We Don't Need No Stinking Jobs!

From my evil handlers in the evil Big Oil industry.

This brings up a question I'm sure many of you are asking.

Is the current administration just blissfully ignorant of economics or are they purposely doing this because they hate capitalism and America?

I'm increasingly finding myself believing option #2, fully acknowledging the "conspiracy theory" stigma that would be attached to me.

Number 2 for sure...

It's not a conspiracy theory to say they hate capitalism and America.

They believe wealth is distributed, not created. So, to them, all they need to do is control the money supply (TAX AND SPEND, printing money) and they can make everything "fair" or at least fair to them. If they actually believed in wealth creation and destruction, they would hesitate to kill jobs with regulation and destroy savings with inflation.

And, yes, they hate America because America used to be free enough to allow capitalists to create wealth and allow capitalism to flourish. Now that they've put a stop to that freedom nonsense, they're scratching their heads and wondering why businesses are reluctant to expand.

Option #2; I have understood this from the get go: Obama is deliberately destroying this nation.

How about the "ignorant ivory tower nabobs who have never had a real job and will never need to" explanation?

We are ruled by academics who despise everyone who has to work for a living.

I'm with you captain, I mean we knew they were tools, but the degree to which the are is really starting to point towards number two.

I've made my aluminium foil beanie, yours is in the mail.

Can't you wait for the inevitable wailing when these ..creatures.. get turfed, and people start rolling back this nonsense? "oh my god, they are ruining environment, etc..." There will of course inevitably be an photogenic-accident, for which total blame will fall on the shoulders of whomever made the regulation reasonable again. In wailing greek chorus style.

Kind of the like the gulf oil spill, but in reverse, does anyone doubt if Bush was still pres. there would be constant follow ups on the gulf situation, and "studies" showing how even thought the problem has gone away it's really still there?

I'm thinking exactly like you.

At the beginning, I thought Obama and his advisers were well-intentioned but clueless, but the more his administration continues, the more I think he's deliberately and systematically destroying our nation.

It's not just capitalism he's destroying, he's destroying the Constitution, he's destroying some people's civil rights, his administration is refusing to enforce the law of the land, he has steadfastly usurped the roles of the Judicial and Legislative branches. He's trying to finish the job that FDR didn't.

Carter was incompetent. FDR was power-mad. I'm being to think Obama is pure evil.

I am starting to wonder if the President hasn't done anything about the economy and jobs because he did not think anything needed to be done.

When he took office, we were headed down into a recession. Recent history suggests recessions last a year or two then the economy comes back. He might have seen that as just right. Things are a little bad in 2009 and 2010, he uses the 'crisis' to enact his programs, the economy comes back regardless of what he does and he can take credit as he runs for re-election.

Unfortunately, the economy coming back after recent recessions is due to bubble economics, dot.com then housing. They tried to inflate a 'green energy' bubble this time but it isn't working.

The administration's actions have caused businesses and consumers to stop spending. To get people spending again would require steps that would totally detonate the liberal base moving into the election.

If the economy double dips to the point that even the liberal media cannot hide it, the polls will turn against Obama. If he is looking at certain defeat, I think he pulls out rather than gets kicked out. I think there is a 25% chance he isn't even on the ballot in November.

"I think there is a 25% chance he isn't even on the ballot in November."

I'll take that bet for 75%. Mostly because I think the republicans can find a candidate who is gormless (aka "electable") enough to lose.

You are not alone.
Nice country you had here. It's a shame that Obama happened to it!

I'm for #2, but it is not like the Republican ever do much in the name 'free markets' or 'capitalism' except for their cronies to.

I'm gonna pick option 2, though with the caveat that the craziest people on the left don't just hate capitalism and America, they hate humanity. A large human population requires a lot of land and raw materials to support. The Loony Left, by "reasoning" through the theory of evolution from an atheist-materialist viewpoint, has decided that "all biological creatures are equal" and "mankind has no inherent primacy over the rest of nature."

Therefore, we must reduce our production, consumption, population, etc. to allow "nature" more with which to develop. Energy production, economic growth, and virtually anything else that supports a large human population is bad. The problem is that even in this worldview, we are products of nature, so anything WE do is natural. Evolution=better-adapted species displacing less-adapted ones. Voluntary abdication of our earned prerogatives is not just masochistic, it's unnecessary and illogical, even from their perspective.

Definitely number 2. It's obvious: I don't think anybody can be that blindly incompetent, so it has to be willful.

I'll sit here and wait for my "ride" to the re-education camp now that I've said my piece. I call top bunk.

"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity!"

Trouble is, I'm convinced that the nonsense going on in our country cannot be explained by stupidity alone. The answer is #2.

Elliot, "...the left don't just hate capitalism and America, they hate humanity." Au contraire! The left love humanity - it's people they hate!
