Leif - "Seattle's Royal Enfield"

Met up with a fan Leif from Seattle who drove a Royal Enfield motorcycle.  The motorcycle is about 4 times older than he is, but he still allowed me to sit on it.

I've never seen one of those in my life.

Are you sure that's Seattle? I see bright sun and shadows.

Cool Captain America helmut.

Those bikes are from back in the days when Britain led the world in motorcycle technology and manufacture. A couple of generations of socialism and they don't lead the world in anything and are on the road to extinction.

That is either a beautiful restoration - or brand new. They sell them up here in Alberta.

I don't understand it. The motorcycle industry is modding old classics and selling them brand new with all the old style and new innovations and gizmos. (I am buying an Indian next year).

Why not cars? I would LOVE an old classic with batmobile fins, ABS, EFI and all the goodies...

Now all he needs is a matching Lee Enfield rifle.

You were in Seattle?! Well fuck me for not checking your blog for the last few days.....

Believe it or not Seattle has some of the best summers in the country. Despite the hipster problem, and the occasional election of socialists to our municipal office, it's not a bad place to live.

These bikes are exported to US from India, by Royal Enfield (Eicher Motors).

Royal Enfields have been built in India since the '60s. The original tooling was shipped from England before Triumph bought them out.

You can also buy a Hindustan Ambassador which is a copy of the 1958 Morris Oxford saloon with a modern Japanese engine.

Do you really really want to be cool and rock the boat.

Instead of riding another company's brand name motorcycle, grow a pair and build your own motorcycle FROM SCRATCH.

RIDE A CLAREY ! I DARE YOU !

Do you want success or not !

Make your own name ! And have the balls to ride it !

Then have babes ride your bikes and start selling them.

You will make more money with that than your books !
