7 Articles Later and I Still Don't Know What Missouri's President Wolfe Did
It kept coming up on my damn twitter and other social media until I finally broke down and said, "Alright, fine, I'll look into this. What thef@ck is going on with this guy "Wolfe" at the University of Missouri?"
And seven articles and 45 finite minutes of my life later, I still don't know.
Oh, I know he resigned as well as the chancellor.
I know the student group 1950 had posted a list of tyrannical and racist demands that would make any self respecting and prospective student refuse to attend.
And I know the college sportzball team was instrumental in getting these events to transpire.
But the KEY question I was trying to answer has still gone unanswered.
Precisely what the hell did President Wolfe do that was so drastic and bad that he AND the chancellor resigned, not to mention the entire university system is now forcing "diversity training" on their students?
I was expecting him to have used a genuine racial slur. Perhaps assaulted a minority student. Maybe got caught banging a freshman during orientation.
Nope.
The best answer I could find was "he didn't respond to some racial issues on campus fast enough." Seriously, that's the official reason for all this hubbub. He didn't handle a CLAIM that a young black man was called racial slurs while on campus and a feces swastika was smeared on a door.
So now I (along with the rest of you) have to ask ourselves, what is the likely scenario?
1. President Wolfe was SOOOO incompetent that he was unaware of the Stasi-level culture of political correctness and race-victimization in today's college campuses that he let two SERIOUS claims like that go unanswered and uninvestigated?
Or
2. Political correctness, victimization, and crusaderism have so infected today's millennial and college campus generations that they are professional and feral victims, constantly on the search for a reason to whine and claim they're oppressed because (ultimately) they're too damn lazy to work and think majoring in real subjects is beneath them?
Any one with half a brain knows it is the later (whether they have the balls to admit that or not, however, is another matter).
Now, of course, I could be completely wrong. Maybe it was in the 8th article I would have read that I'd find out he blackmailed the entire black sorority on campus to flunk them out if they all didn't sleep with him. Perhaps he stalled, or refused to investigate, which I could understand would lead to his resignation. But if all the students and left have is "he didn't handle racial tensions on campus well," FOAD. You're not fooling me. Try your little "woeisme victim game" on John Boehner or some other ballless republican.
The truth is that this is simply another (and ballsy) play on the left to use false racism and victimization to provide the rationalize for further brainwashing and indoctrination of America's youth in the bottleneck of college we force them to go through. It is secondarily a BLATANTLY CLEAR aim for the worthless tranches of academians, professors, professional activities, and worthless-major-graduate students to get more funding to create make work jobs such as "diversity counselors," "professors," "advisors," and "directors."
Again, at any point in time, prove me wrong. I want to see what Mr. Wolfe did wrong and will certainly celebrate his resignation. Otherwise this is nothing more than what the left always does - bitch and whine while excelling at cowardice.

Correcting Our Own
As many of you know I am a big fan of Stefan Molyneux. His call in shows are a bit emo, but when he does specials or particular research on a particular topic I very much enjoy them as he is usually pioneering a new vein of philosophy or thought.
However a common fact he refers to (not necessarily cite) is that the amount of money in social programs that actually reaches their intended recipients is a mere fraction of the total, implying the majority of it merely goes into the pockets of government workers and administrators.
I had no reason to doubt him as I trust the man is intellectually honest, but it wasn't until my economic spidey senses started tingling with a great economic idea that I found out he is likely wrong.
The idea was that if there was that much government bloat, there would be an area where even the most right wing and left wing persons could get together and have a great compromise. Recipients of welfare, TANF, WIC, EBT, etc., could get an increase in their benefits, while the producers and taxpayers of society could get their taxes lowered. This would be possible by simply streamlining the government bloat used to manage these programs and would be a win win for everybody.
The problem is government overhead accounting for the majority of social program spending just isn't true. Glenn Kessler did some outstanding (and rare) journalism researching the topic, finding a study that shows SNAP's overhead only accounts for 6% of total spending. Media Matters also pulled some data for multiple social programs showing the overhead for these programs ranging from 4% to 17%. And while I don't trust Media Matters to present this data without manipulation or spin, it is in line with Kessler's research (though, not surprisingly their links to the original sources no longer work).
Regardless, the point is that those of us on the right or libertarian side of the political spectrum cannot rely on lies or false data simply because its against our principles. We want to base our decisions in reality since that is the best way to develop policy, theories, and philosophies that work best in the real world. So even though it would have been nice to perhaps balance the federal budget on the backs of overpaid and overbloated numbers of government workers, sadly, it doesn't look that way. We'll just have to find other ways.
POST POST - I spoke with Michael over at Free Domain Radio and he said Stefan already has something in the pipe on this and will present his figures. Some of the things cited in the comments are what he will be addressing, so I'm sure we'll have a good response.

The "97% Consensus" on Global Warming is Bullshit
I find global warming "cute" because it's not only something the left gets excited about, but many people on the right and in libertarian spheres get excited about it too. Specifically, people on the right think it's all BS and libertarians think it's real and wonder how I (an otherwise rational, logical, empirical human being) don't believe in it.

The entire argument for global warming hinges on this convenient statistic that 97% of scientists believe in man-induced global warming. Only problem is that statistic is pure bunk and made up. Now the lesson to learn from this is one of when to ignore data and let pure, simple logic (not to mention cynicism in your fellow man) determine your position on different things.
If you just trusted your gut and looked at this global warming thing for what it was, it would have become very apparent that it was all a scam. It was just a racket.
You have:
1. Leftists at all levels of government creating a problem out of thin air
2. That the only solution is more government and taxes
3. Wherein the people who could determine if there was a problem were all compensated on there being a problem
4. With holes in research and methodologies, not to mention completely fabricated data
5. With predictions and computer models failing to predict the past and future
6. Oh, and yeah, don't forget about the "brand new religious" element that the mindless sheeple can follow where they can buy indulgences and give their meaningless lives "value" by claiming "they're going green."
The real story about the global warming hoax is just what a high percentage of the west's population is easy marks and fall for this huckster bullshit. That they lack such basic common sense to identify a scam like this, if not race to sop it up, shows just how far gone this society is and that it is going to get what it precisely deserves.
Regardless, my point is that this one was so obvious you didn't have to waste your time pulling data, pointing to research, and highlighting shoddy methodologies. All you had to say was "it's a scam and you're a dupe." Because in all honesty, people who believe in global warming choose to believe in it and will never be convinced otherwise. Alas, why waste your time or get riled up about global warming? It's just the newest state-endorsed religion for the sheep.

Everything Wrong With MGTOW
In one simple picture.
I'm going to be brief on account it's Friday and I think we've gone over these topics before, but I think a convenient, consolidated recap here will prove helpful:
1. How Much of it is "Ugly Feminist Who Can't Find a Man" but Reversed?
One of the things that tipped me off to the fake MGTOW movement was the nature of the problems and complaints men had about women. It was confirmed once I started hearing concepts like "Incel" and "TFL." And though you could not "totally" confirm as they hid behind avatars of 17th century philosophers, medieval knights, and anime characters (though I'm guilty of that), you could just tell they were men who did not keep themselves in shape, were not attractive, and instead of doing something about it, rather take the easy route and (just like feminists) shame and lecture women for "liking the bad boy alpha with muscles, money, and a motorcycle."
2. Still Obsessed Over Women
Real MGTOW's have more important shit going on in their lives than to protest a feminist protest. And we certainly do not have the time to make a body of armor out of ducktape to do so. This poor soul obviously still cares about what women think as he spent lord knows how many hours of his precious life to do this. The mere fact he's trying to bring attention to "MGTOW" shows just how much control women still have over him. Closely related to this...
3. Crusaderism/Lack of Purpose and Agency in Life
Again, real MGTOW's are out there doing shit with their lives. They are not going to protest...well...feminists protesting. They will have a hobby, a craft, friends, a business venture, some books to read, a family to raise, mountains to hike, landscapes to paint, girls to nail, even video games to play.
This guy and many other "MGTOWs" do not. They have nothing more going on in their lives than to mire themselves in how they've all gone MGTOW which is no different or lacking in accomplishment than Laci Green claiming she's "pansexual." Inevitably the "GTOW" has to become part of MGTOW. And since that takes effort, sadly, I'd estimate 30% of self-proclaimed MGTOW's (primarily the cultists on the internet) never do. And sadly they never really join the remaining 70% of their authentic MGTOW brothers.
Ultimately, however, the problem is that MGTOW by its nature is a silent movement, a philosophy, a quiet choice. YOu simply "go ghost" and live your life a different way. This leaves the academians, the theoreticians, the wanna be's who pound away at keyboards and throw vitriol on YouTube. Worse, it leaves the likes of the above (who by no means defines MGTOW's) define them to the outside world. And ironically, it accomplishes the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the crusaderist arm of the MGTOW's want as society doesn't take them seriously, but mocks them and writes them off.
Anyway, today I'm going to hit the gym, bang out some miles, listen to the Ancient War podcast, practice a speech I have coming up, go swing dancing with my girlfriend while having dinner with friends, then I'm going to prepare my truck for a roadtrip out east to visit fellow fans and bloggers.
I will not be donning plastic homemade armor and protesting a feminist protest.

Should Women Work?
I would have titled this post differently, as I believe women should absolutely have the right to work and we should ban nobody from doing what they wish with their lives, but Roosh still brings up some good points. Precisely how vital are women to the economy? I wish he would have harped on the public sector/non-profit sectors of the economy with some numbers (perhaps something I could do), but precisely what would happen at the office or factory if women weren't allowed? What would happen to government bloat if there were make-work jobs for them? What would happen if you had one strong disciplinarian vice principle in the high school and not a dozen "guidance counselors?"
Again, I am very much against telling people what they can and cannot do. But as an economist I am infinitely intrigued about what they "should" do in theirs and society's best interests.
